Debbie Morton DipLaw (LPAB), LLM (Int'l), NMAS, FDRP
Debbie Morton is a Family Law Specialist Accredited by the NSW Law Society who, after many years of working for Legal Firms in and out of the St George and Sutherland Shires, set up her own 'Boutique' Legal Practice in January 2004, specialising in Family Law. Debbie provides flexible and 'out of hours' appointment times to suit people with busy lifestyles.
Having practised in Family Law since her admission as a solicitor in 1995 and attaining Specialist Accreditation in 2001, Debbie enrolled in the College of Law's Graduate Diploma of Family Dispute Resolution in 2014 and completed that program with a Distinction. Having completed the Competency Assessment Debbie is also a Nationally Accredited Mediator and a member of The Institute of Specialist Dispute Resolution (ISDR). In addition, Debbie is registered with the Attorney General's office as a Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner. In addition, Debbie is a member of the Law Society's Family Law Settlement Service as a Mediator.
Since 2008 Debbie has been a member of the NSW Law Society's Specialist Accreditation Advisory Committee in Family Law and from 2013 to 2016 was also an Adjunct Lecturer in the College of Law's Master of Applied Law (Family Law) program. Debbie has previously lecturered in the Family Law component of the College of Law's PLT program.
As a Solicitor/Advocate, almost exclusively in Family Law, Debbie often conducts hearings on both an Interim and Final basis. Debbie sits on the Legal Aid Commission of NSW's Panel of Independent Children's Lawyer and is regularly appointed to represent the best interests of children in parenting disputes.
